Mary and Sam got married this past weekend!! We all had a ball despite the up and down weather. It reminds me that I'm very lucky to be a part of such a wonderful group of people. Here is the picture of the eight of us. Val's the last one!!! We need her and Joe to wait just a couple more years though. ;)

Ben's First T-Ball Game ~ May 3, 2008
Ben had his first t-ball game this Saturday!! It was a rainy, cold day which of course is perfect for 5-7 year olds to play baseball in. HA! They managed to play 2 whole innings in 2 hours. If you can imagine 16 little boys in one dugout "cheering on" their teammate at bat well, then you're probably envisioning a cage full of monkeys. They were literally climbing the walls. It was a hoot though. They seemed to have fun so hopefully we'll have a successful, fun season!
Living Every Day!
The call came in from Tricia, "I'm inviting you to come repelling with me at 1PM." Uh......I'll be there with my camera? So there I was, on the top of the repel tower, in the pouring rain, taking pictures of my more motivated friends repelling down the tower. They were awesome! Everyone was wet, cold, and nervous but I haven't seen that many smiles in one spot in a long time. I wish I could have stayed to watch everyone but Jake was a little less enthusiastic. I'm getting up there next time! And only if it's not raining!
Smells of Summer....
Steve was mowing the lawn the other day for the first time this season. I didn't think much of it until I walked thru the freshly cut lawn and smelled it. Nothing says summer quite like a beautiful warm day and the smell of freshly cut grass (even if it did make me sneeze).

Next NFL quarterback?

Ben has started playing flag football on Monday afternoons! He's extremely disappointed that it's not tackle football though. Despite the complaints and the groans of disgust we make him go because Steve signed up to coach the "older" boys (7-8 yr olds). Honestly, he's not tortured. He gets out of the house for an hour and runs around with a bunch of kids. True, the coaches, despite their best efforts, can't really capture the fleeting attention of the kids but they're out there teaching them the basics and having some fun. It's been eye-opening for Steve and I as well. We've learned some new discipline techniques....push-ups and running. Do you think we can apply those at home? ;)
Oh and Ben's jumping jacks look more like a drunkin' Irish jig....HA! And by the way, Steve is having a ball coaching!
